Working with Records
By this point, you may have several records entered into the program. The main window is where you can review the existing records and export them for use by the O*NET Ability Profiler Scoring Program (APSP).
The Record List
Your records are displayed in a listbox with three columns: Name, Date, and Verified. The first two columns correspond to the "Name" and "Testing Date" items of the record, and are used to distinguish the records from one another. The third column displays "Yes" next to any records that have completed at least one verification process. To reduce data entry errors, you should verify all records before exporting them.

To verify or export records in the list, you must select them before choosing the appropriate action button.

Tip: You can select records from the keyboard: use the Up and Down arrow keys to highlight a single record. Hold down the Shift key to select a range of records.

To make selecting records easier, you can sort the list by any of the columns. Just click on the heading of the column you want sorted. Click the heading again to sort the column in the opposite order. If you prefer, you can use the items in the Sort menu, instead of clicking the column headings.
Editing and Verifying Records
If you did not complete the data entry process for a record, or chose not to verify a record after its initial entry, you can edit or verify the record from the main window. Select the record you wish to update, and select the Edit or Verify button to open the record window. For more information on the verification process, see Saving and Verifying Records.

Note: Records that have already been verified may not be edited. Editing a record can introduce data entry errors, and verified records have already been checked to reduce errors. Verified records can be re-verified multiple times.
Exporting Records
Once records are ready to be analyzed by the APSP, you must export them to a file. Select the records you wish to export, and select the Export button. You will then be prompted to choose a location and filename for the records. All of your selected records will be saved to one file. This file can then be read by the APSP; consult the O*NET Ability Profiler Scoring Program User's Guide for information on loading the file into the program.

Tip: Remember to make a note of the path and file name location where you saved the exported files.
Deleting Records
After several rounds of entering and exporting records, the record list can grow large and difficult to search. You can delete records that you no longer need by selecting them in the list and pressing the Delete button. You will be asked to confirm this operation. Once records have been deleted, they are no longer available in the program; be sure to export your records to a safe location before deleting them.

Tip: If you exported your records and then deleted them, you can bring them back into the program using the Import function. See Importing Records for more information.
